So, we finally figured out that the Lodge will not be big enough for us to fit inside and I really don't want to pay for a tent or deal with the unpredictable weather in May. Now we have moved on to two other possibilities...Pine Ridge in Wautoma and Royal Ridges in Ripon. Matt really likes the rustic look of Pine Ridge, but I'm a little disappointed that they don't carry that look through to their banquet rooms. Pine Ridge happens to be booked on May 16, 2009, which is the day we wanted, so if we choose them we would have to move the date to May 2.
I guess we will see which place we like better in person when we tour both the first weekend in May. We also have our first meeting with a photographer that weekend!! Her name is Callie Crass and she is out of Stevens Point. Check out her work!!
Matt and I don't really agree on the type of wedding photography we want at the wedding. He's more of a standard group shot guy, but I really love the photojournalism type. It captures moments, not just posed stuff. Anyway, he's defaulting to me on this one since I graduated college with a degree in photography!
Another photographer I am looking at is Carly McCray. She is also out of Stevens Point and is actually friends with Callie! I LOVE Carly's work!!!! Beautiful stuff! I cannot wait to get her information packet!
Beyond reception places and photographers all I have decided is colors. I would like the bridesmaid dresses to be sage green and the flowers will be lavender. Tulips are my favorite flower and the wedding is in their season, so more than likely there will be tulips, although I saw a beautiful bouquet with french lavender in it!!
