iPod Wedding How-to

Matt and I are planning on having an iPod wedding instead of a DJ or band, so I thought I'd post a how-to.

iPod Wedding
Don’t hire a DJ, make a play list

With all the other insane preparations that go into throwing the party of your life, who wants to spend even more time and effort finding the perfect DJ who will play all your favorite songs, and never kill the mood with a real clunker (Michael Bolton, anyone)? Even more frustrating, professional DJs will make you spend time filling out a list of songs you would want played, and then either ignore your suggestions or get a little too… “creative.”

Well, stop the cold sweats. Maybe an iPod wedding is for you. Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  1. An iPod (or your laptop with your favorite music player) and power source (for those all night booty shakers)
  2. A friend who won’t mind pressing Play
  3. An “All-Time Greatest Wedding Song” brainstorm session with your spouse-to-be
  4. A follow-up session with your friends to add a few more… and to axe the songs that you’ll be too embarrassed for them to hear
  5. A PA system, mixing board, or an amplifier attached to speakers
  6. A cable with a _” to 1/8″ adaptor

And that’s it! So journey on over to our supplemental pages for more info, check out our Wisdom Of The Masses Playlist, and start building your own personal (and free!) reception DJ with iPod Wedding.
